The Story Of Lights: Mr. Fox

Let's welcome Mr. Fox as a part of our SHINee's world now. SMTown introducing this majestic animal in The Story of Lights album and SHINee's music video for some reasons that SHINee World has to know.

The Little Prince
As we all know, The Little Prince novel is one of our JongHyun's favorite story to read. Overall, the novel is about a stranded Prince on a dessert who needs to fix his plane to go back home (somewhere in the universe). It's a story of how connections or relationship can lead to sadness and longing when it's time to be apart.

Say Hello To Mr. Fox
In the novel, the fox appeared when the Prince is wept in sadness. The fox wanted to be tame and be his companion to cheer him up but later they have to say goodbye to each other. Before they depart, the fox told him that important thing can only be seen with the heart, not the eyes. The fox said so because the Prince is missing his rose back at home.

The fox understands The Prince relationship with his rose. The Prince doesn't know how to love the rose but he kept protecting her from caterpillars, watering her, and gave attention to her. He decided to leave and explore the universe so the rose apologized if the reason he left was that he felt like she is taking advantage of his kindness.

The rose said she can take care of herself in the glass globe and the Prince can continue his desire to visit other planets. She failed to show she loved him and before they departed, she seriously apologized and they'd both being silly.

The Prince also expressed to the fox that he doesn't know how to love his rose. He should have listened to her kind actions, rather than her vain words. The fox gave at least three important messages to the Prince. The fox saying that "One sees clearly only with the heart. The essential is invisible to the eye."

Other key morals articulated by the fox are: "You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed," and "It is the time you have lost for your rose that makes your rose so important."

Fox And After Life
The fox was written in the novel by ‎Antoine de Saint-Exupéry because when he was stranded in a desert during World War II, he found a fennec which is a desert sand fox. Some culture saying the fox can convey an important message to his master from someone in the afterlife. In our SHINee world, the fox is telling us that our precious Jonghyun is invincible to our eyes but we can see him clearly with our heart.

JongHyun is very important to us. All of his family, friends, and friend will never stop grieving for their loss. However, our life must go on and our SHINee will continue their responsibility to keep SHINee's music alive for both fans and JongHyun.

Seems like we will be seeing Mr. Fox a lot to remind us about our important JongHyun. It was a sad departing, but the fox imparts a secret: important things can only be seen with the heart, not the eyes, which is so true. Our SHINee is still five. Our SHINee will always shine forever.
