(Grammar) -예요?, -이에요?, -도

-예요? following a noun means 'Is it ...?' -예요? is used when the noun to which it is attached ends with a vovel (ㅏ,ㅓ,ㅗ,ㅜ,ㅡ,ㅣ,ㅐ,ㅔ,ㅑ,ㅕ,ㅛ,ㅒ,ㅖ,ㅙ,ㅘ,ㅝ,ㅞ,ㅚ,ㅟ,ㅢ)

  • 6과예요? Is it Lesson 6?
  • 대화예요? Is it a dialogue?
  • 사과예요? Is it an apple?
-이에요? and -예요 have exactly the same meaning. Just -이에요? follow nouns that ending with consonant (ㅂ,ㄷ,ㅈ,ㄱ,ㅅ,ㅁ,ㄴ,ㄹ,ㅎ,ㅋ,ㅌ,ㅊ,ㅍ,ㅇ)
  • 만원이에요? Is it 10,000won?
  • 선불이에요? Is it a present?
  • 연습이에요? Is it a practice?
-도 means also or too.
  • 이것도 아주 비싸요! This is too expensive!
  • 나도 좋아해요. I like it too.
  • 너도 예뻐요. You are pretty also.
