Hold on, not only our Onew will be affected, most of other Idols are more than 25 years old and not serving the military yet. Infinite, Teen Top, Highlight, EXO, and more. This new rule is to prevent 25 years old male in South Korea from delaying their enlistment due to travelling activity.
The new Korean military enlistment rule changes took effect on May 29th, were changed to keep people from abusing the ability to delay enlistment due to travel. Korean male citizen age 25~27 now limited to international travel 5 times a year, up to 6 months at one time, and total limit of 2 years
International age 25-27 who haven't enlisted are limited to leaving Korea only 5 times a year, less than 6 months. 28+ can't delay enlistment even for education (grad school).
Which means, as long as you don't serve the military yet, you are not allowed to travel abroad freely. Your travelling business will be limited because you are owing the country by not getting enlisted yet.
This is going to have a huge effect on idols delaying enlistment/promoting normally.The rule was amended not solely because of the idols. A lot of korean citizen choosing to study abroad after high school and take business/personal travelling that makes them to delay their enlistment.
Korean military service objective is to prepare the country from any emergency situation especially when the country's defense is compromised. This is the mandatory duty for all male in Korea. Personally, I have a friend who work in the USA but got a call from the Korean military service. He gave up everything in the US, served the military, and started his life again in South Korea. That's how serious it is.
So, is there any chance for SHINee to get military enlistment together? Why not right? It's better for them to serve the military and discharge at the same time too. Shawol has no problem to wait. We always wait for them. 1 year and half or 2 years will fly like nothing. We will be missing them like crazy, but we are a pro at this. We are the most loyal fandom ever, remember?
Shawols supports SHINee and Korean law to protect the country. We will always be ready if our Onew or SHINee get the call to serve the military. We will be right here, keep on spreading the love about SHINee until they come back to us again. But for now, they have to finish their comeback promotion. SHINee hwaiting!
